- Using unemployed
agricultural graduates to provide extension services on
payment basis by setting up of their private ventures.
- Extending equal
opportunities to all eligible unemployed agricultural
graduates to be self employed by establishing economically
viable ventures of Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres.
- Involving these critical
human resources for agricultural development.

Salient
Features
|
This
scheme is meant for providing much needed extension, input and other
agricultural support services to the farming population utilizing
the human resources of unemployed agricultural graduates by
setting up of ventures with the financial support from
Nationalized and Commercial Banks. Under the scheme Agri-Entrepreneurs
will be given (i) traning (ii) bank finance etc. for setting
up of Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres.

Pattern
of Assistance
|
NABARD would
extent refinance support under the scheme. the ceiling of project
cost for individual project will be Rs 10.00 lakh whereas the
group consist off five or more trained graduates the ceiling of
project cost will be Rs 10.00 lakh per trained graduates, subject
to an overall ceiling of Rs 50.00 lakh

The
training component of this scheme was implemented during last year
of IX Five Year plan and was continued in the first year of X Five
Year Plan. Presently, the scheme with a large scope is under
consideration.

Status
|
By
October 2003 a total No. of 20,008 application have been received,
4,014 graduates have been trained in 66 identified institutes, 725
ventures set up
