Strong institutional support for research in beekeeping.

Appropriate assistance may be provided for promoting migratory beekeeping, developing plans for migration based on the floral-maps and providing infrastructural support.

The project with function in mission mode through integration of research development and marketing will be encouraged.

Awareness campaign will be launched for educating the public on diverse uses of honey and its products to improve its demand and help in the expansion of beekeeping industry.

Consortium approach for overall development of beekeeping for improved productivity and enhanced income will receive greater emphasis.

(i)         Promotion of Beekeeping Research

Support would be provided for developing nucleus stock through the Research Institutes upto a total outlay of Rs 3 lakhs.  The assistance would be provided as grant-in-aid.  For private bodies, the assistance would be limited to 50 percent of the project cost with a ceiling of Rs 5 lakhs whichever is less.  Assistance will be released to the concerned Institutes directly by the DAC after the approval by the Project Approval Committee (PAC)
